About Butterfly Occupational therapy ...
Having a cumulation of almost 20 years in occupational therapy, Leia has been blessed with vast experience opportunities ranging from leading a busy A&E therapy team to developing specialism in sensory integration and modulation in children. With a passion for working with sensory needs and developmental delay, Leia feels blessed to be in a position where she is able to offer support to families in the South East*.
Leia's passion and keen interest in sensory needs and developmental trajectories facilitated her study towards qualifying as a sensory integration practitioner and working towards advanced practitioner status, completing an MSc. in 2024.
Having had a premature child herself and having experienced the trauma of NICU and special care and met families with complex and life-limiting needs, Leia felt a calling to the therapeutic potential surrounding these children and their families.
Leia strives to support families and children in her care to a high standard that parents should expect.
Having worked in the NHS since 2005, Leia decided to spread her wings, altering hours in the NHS, and in 2021, Butterfly OT hatched. Of course, having such a wonderful role in the NHS, it's hard to leave completely!
Since then Leia has been privileged to work alongside some incredible associates. Click to meet the team...
